GOLDSBORO, NC – In a packed Courtroom #1, with Judge Arnold Jones presiding and both of Carey Winders’ families watching, Teresa and their daughters – and the men and women of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Larry Pierce was sworn in today as the Sheriff of Wayne County.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Teresa Winders presented Sheriff Pierce with his badge, after which he presented the late Sheriff’s sidearm, with which he protected the county, to Teresa.
