Sex Offender Database Grants

The 2018 North Carolina state budget provides $500,000 to the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association to be used to “provide grants to implement a statewide sex offender database that connects all 100 counties and allows for robust data entry and retrieval at the local level.”

The NCSA is to report to the Chairs of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety on the use of the grant funds no later than July 1, 2019. These documents provide the Request for Proposal and the procedure approved by the NCSA Executive Committee for awarding the sex offender database grants. The deadline for submissions is May 24, 2019.
