We have exceptional training planned for this year’s Fall Meeting, which includes a three-part presentation titled, Of Course, All Lives Matter. Part I will address the Facts, dispelling the myths surrounding law enforcement use of force. Part II will address the Perception, what the community thinks and understanding it is not us versus them. Part III will address a Solution and what one county is doing to enhance law enforcement relationships within the community. In addition, we will receive an informative update from John Byrd, Director of the NC State Crime Lab regarding the newly revised evidence submission policy, the new western lab, turn-around times, and filling vacant and new positions within the NC State Crime Lab. The State Bureau of Investigation will inform us about the many capabilities of their new $8 million airplane and how it can be used to assist sheriffs across our state.
