We have a dynamic agenda with a mix of nationally known experts and practitioners working narcotics trafficking in North & South Carolina.
We will build on our successful use of breakout sessions tailored to specific tools of the narcotics officers’ trade. Breakout sessions will be conducted Wednesday afternoon and throughout the day Thursday, January 30, 2025. At the conference each North & South Carolina U.S. Attorney’s Office will have a breakout with agents from their Districts to allow you to interact with federal prosecutors who will handle your cases. See the attached agenda for a complete list of topics. Valuable topics offered during the breakout sessions include How to Investigate “Ghost Guns” and “Switches”; Title III Wiretaps; Cryptocurrency and Financial Investigations/Money Laundering; Taking an OCDETF Case from Start to Finish; a keynote speech from Judge Stuart Couch on the Conscience of a Prosecutor; and a couple of case studies on large narcotics organizations and gangs. This conference is designed to teach new material to both conference alumni and first- time attendees, with a focus on building investigations that target federal crimes. Sheriffs, DAs, and Police Chiefs are encouraged to attend with their drug units. Assistant District Attorneys and Solicitors are also encouraged to attend this training. Seating is limited, so please register early.
