Due to the Duke-UNC football game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 on the Duke University campus, we are now beginning registration at 11:00 a.m. Early check-in is available.
We recommend that everyone arrive before 3:00 p.m. to avoid congested traffic. Traffic control checkpoints will be in place at 3:30 p.m. restricting traffic patterns. As a precaution we are mailing parking passes to be placed on your rearview mirror for all registrants. These passes are only needed if you arrive after 3:00 p.m.
The Fall Meeting of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association will be held November 20-21, 2014 in Durham, North Carolina. This meeting will be held at the conclusion of the first week of the Sheriffs’ Leadership Institute for the newly-elected sheriffs. Please join us to welcome the new sheriffs.
We are offering a unique opportunity this year for companies like yours to become an Official Host to the newly-elected sheriffs and our state’s veteran sheriffs. For $1,250 your company can take your support of the North Carolina sheriffs to the next level. This limited opportunity will allow for your company to receive enhanced exposure during both Thursday and Friday’s meetings through prominent signage within all meeting rooms, recognition from the Association’s President, and your company’s name listed in Thursday evening’s Banquet program and Friday’s meeting materials.
Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews has graciously agreed to host the meeting and promises outstanding hospitality. We will be meeting at the R. David Thomas Executive Conference Center in Durham, North Carolina.
The format of this meeting is altered slightly from our normal Fall and Spring Meetings due to the Sheriffs’ Leadership Institute. We will begin with registration on Thursday, November 20th, from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a welcoming reception and banquet on Thursday evening honoring our newly-elected sheriffs. This will be a great opportunity to meet the newly-elected sheriffs and their spouses and welcome them to the Association.

When making reservations, please specify that you are with the NC Sheriffs’ Association to ensure that you receive the correct rate of $150 (plus tax) per night. This rate includes all meals as well.

Friday morning attendees will hear from Dr. Charles Petty on how to “Climb the Ladder of Success… and Take Your Family with You.” Dr. Petty’s humorous and informative talk will teach attendees how to balance their work life and relationships.
